About the Role
Farmers Electric Design & Construction is hiring an E3 Electrical Trainee to learn the trade the right way — supervised, hands-on hours with journeyman mentors across residential and commercial work in the Puget Sound. If you hold (or can promptly obtain) a Washington State Electrical Trainee certificate and want a career — not just a job — start here.
Our E3 tier is a genuine pipeline: trainees who show up, work safe, and learn earn their hours toward EL02 or EL01 and grow with a shop that's been training electricians for decades.
What You'll Do
- Assist journeyman electricians with installations, rough-in, trim-out, and service work
- Pull wire, bend conduit, mount boxes and fixtures, and keep jobsites clean and safe
- Learn to read plans, follow code, and use trade tools and test instruments correctly
- Log supervised training hours toward your Washington certificate
- Attend required trainee classroom hours (we'll help you find a program that fits)
- Treat every home and jobsite like it's your own
What You Bring
- Washington State Electrical Trainee certificate (or ability to obtain one promptly — we'll walk you through it)
- Enrollment in, or willingness to enroll in, an approved electrical training program
- Basic hand tools and a readiness to work outdoors and on ladders, lifts, and occasional Saturdays
- Valid Washington driver's license (or reliable transportation to the Bothell shop and jobsites)
- High school diploma or GED
- Hunger to learn, show up on time, and take coaching
Pay & Benefits
- $22–$32 per hour, depending on logged hours and classroom progress (Washington pay-transparency range)
- Full-time, year-round work with steady supervised hours
- Paid time off and holidays
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage
- Mentorship from career journeymen and a real path to EL02/EL01 licensure
