About the Role
Farmers Electric Design & Construction is hiring an E2 Residential Electrician holding a current Washington State EL02 certificate (EL01 holders welcome) to serve homeowners across the Puget Sound from our Bothell shop. Service calls, panel upgrades, remodels, EV chargers, generators, and smart-home work — the variety that keeps residential interesting.
E2s are the face of Farmers Electric in customers' homes: skilled, tidy, and easy to talk to.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and install residential electrical systems: panels, circuits, lighting, outlets, EV chargers, generators
- Run service calls and small projects start to finish, including customer walkthroughs
- Work in occupied homes with care — shoe covers, drop cloths, and clear communication
- Upsell honestly: identify safety issues (knob-and-tube, overloaded panels, missing GFCI/AFCI) and explain options
- Keep work code-compliant per NEC and Washington WAC 296-46B
- Document work performed, materials used, and time accurately
What You Bring
- Current Washington State EL02 Residential (or EL01 General) certificate in good standing (required)
- 2+ years of residential field experience
- Comfortable troubleshooting in finished homes and communicating with homeowners
- Valid Washington driver's license and reliable transportation
- OSHA 10, first aid/CPR a plus (not required)
- Patience, cleanliness, and pride in finished work
Pay & Benefits
- $34–$50 per hour, depending on experience and license (Washington pay-transparency range)
- Full-time, year-round work — we're booked more than two years out
- Paid time off and holidays
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage
- Ongoing training, including a pathway to EL01 for E2s who want it
